Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

Short version: PDF Scanner & Tools is designed so document processing happens on your device. We do not operate a document-processing backend that receives the contents of your PDFs. The app may use third-party advertising and analytics services, which can process limited device, app, advertising, and diagnostic information as described below.

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how PDF Scanner & Tools (“the App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you use the App or this website.

You can contact us at pdfscannertools@yahoo.com.

2. Your documents and on-device processing

The App is designed to perform PDF creation, scanning, editing, conversion, organization, signing, watermarking, OCR-related workflows, and similar document operations on your device.

  • We do not operate a server that receives or stores the contents of your PDFs for these document-processing features.
  • Documents saved inside the App are stored locally on your device unless you choose to export, share, move, or save them using an Apple system service or another app.
  • When you use the iOS Files interface, iCloud Drive, a share sheet, or another provider, your chosen provider may process the file according to its own privacy terms.

3. Device permissions

Depending on the features you use, the App may request access to device capabilities such as:

  • Camera — to scan physical documents.
  • Photos — when you choose to import or save images using features that require photo-library access.
  • Files / document picker — to let you choose PDFs from locations you control.

These permissions are used only when necessary for the feature you choose. You can review or change permissions in iOS Settings.

4. Advertising

The App is free and may display advertisements using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Depending on your region, device settings, consent choices, and Google’s configuration, advertising services may process information such as:

  • device and app information;
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it;
  • advertising identifiers or similar identifiers when permitted;
  • ad impressions, clicks, and interaction data;
  • diagnostic and fraud-prevention information.

We do not send the contents of your PDFs to advertising providers.

For more information about Google’s data practices, see Google’s privacy information for advertising products: Google Privacy Policy.

5. Analytics

The App may use analytics services, such as Firebase Analytics, to understand general app usage and improve reliability and product design. Analytics events are intended to describe app actions — for example, whether a tool was opened or completed — and not the contents of your documents.

We do not intentionally include PDF contents, document text, filenames, passwords, signatures, or other document content in analytics events.

6. Ad privacy and consent choices

Where required or made available by the advertising platform, the App can present privacy and consent controls for advertising. You can review available controls from Settings → Ad Privacy Choices inside the App.

See our Ad Privacy Choices page for more information.

7. Data we do not require

The App is designed to work without requiring an account. We do not require you to provide a name, postal address, phone number, or account profile to use core PDF tools.

8. Data retention

Documents saved in the App remain on your device until you delete them, remove the App, or otherwise manage them using available device or app controls. Third-party providers such as advertising or analytics services may retain data according to their own policies and legal obligations.

9. Children’s privacy

The App is not designed to knowingly collect personal information directly from children through an account system or developer-operated backend. Advertising and analytics services may apply their own age-related and regional requirements.

10. International processing

Third-party providers used for advertising, analytics, or platform services may process information in countries other than the country where you live, subject to their own safeguards and applicable law.

11. Your choices

  • You can manage Camera and Photos permissions in iOS Settings.
  • You can manage available advertising privacy choices from the App’s Settings screen.
  • You can delete PDFs stored in the App using the App’s document-management controls.
  • You can remove the App to delete locally stored app data, subject to iOS and any separate cloud or backup services you use.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App changes, when third-party services change, or when legal requirements require an update. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page identifies the latest published version.
